Washing
separates the sand from the stone and removes any undesirable super-fine sands and silts. Washing also classifies the sands into different gradations. Our washing plant in Limehouse (the only of it's kind in Halton Region) produces 3 types of washed sand and 4 sizes of washed round or crushed stone

 
Description Uses

Brick Sand:
Clean, fine, uniform washed sand
Mortar sand mix for laying bricks and blocks or for filling sandboxes... is the best product for underneath paving stones since less frost-susceptible than limestone screenings
Concrete Sand:
Washed sand conforming to to a tight well-graded specification
Used in production of ready-mix concrete
Block Sand:
Washed well-graded sand, generally coarser than Concrete Sand
Used in production of concrete blocks
Quarter Inch Stone:
Fine washed rounded stone
Playgrounds, backfill for underground tanks
Roofing Stone:
Naturally Round stones ranging in size from 1/4" to 1/2"
Industrial roofing, under concrete, landscaping, swimming pools
Drain Stone:
Naturally Round stones ranging in size from 1/2" to 15/16"
Septic bed construction, weeping tile around foundations
HL6 Stone:
Clear Crushed Stone ranging in size from 3/16" to 7/8"
Asphalt, bedding under sewer pipes
Pre-Mix:
Mixture of Stone and Concrete Sand
Used by do-it-your-selfers
(Just add cement and water to make your own concrete)
