Children were able to climb up into some of the large pit machines and learn how they
work. A loader demonstration created a makeshift sandbox for the younger ones to build
sandcastles. "Kids already know the best uses for our products," said company
president, Ian Duff, who welcomed 150 Limehouse-area residents to the event.
"We wanted to give our neighbours a closer look at what we do. We showed them the
whole operation starting with loading a truck right through to the process of
rehabilitating the property back to farmland."
J. C. Duff Limited is one of Ontario’s oldest family-run sand & gravel
businesses. They supply material for building and maintaining roads, houses, sports fields
and playgrounds. Earlier this year they received their second award for Outstanding
Rehabilitation from the Aggregate Producers Association of
Ontario.
