It would appear that the country of Ghana recently has developed slower than other parts of the world due mainly to a scarcity of quality construction aggregates (sand, gravel and crushed stone) close to market.

This has effectively created a unique situation where many new technologies may be applied that were not available when development occurred elsewhere in the world.

Ocean Power:

The generation of electricity using the power of the ocean's tides, waves, currents and thermal differences would suit Ghana well. Less dependency on fossil fuels combined with less haulage distances for aggregate movement will ensure that Ghana experiences minimal air pollution and takes advantage of the cost savings as well.

Artificial Reefs:

Instead of threatening aquatic life by using antiquated technology and practices, new ideas and operations can be used to actually improve fish habitat.
